Conclusion

LightCore Shroomboom has basically done a vanishing act since his release at Toys'R'Us.  I have NEVER seen him in person at any store.  If you do not want the Dragonfire Cannon Battle Pack this is a way for you to pick up Shroomboom and add him to your stable.  Do not pay more than retail!!

As for the light-up effect on this one, I think they did a nice job.  Rather than yet another disappointment, I think the work done on Shroomboom suffices and casts a nice glow...the green mushroom really sets it off and pushes him over the edge.

I have seen online that the battle pack characters (Hot Dog, Shroomboom, Zap, and Chop Chop) will all get single pack releases, but I would not expect them until the end...That said, if you don't care for the Battle Packs or Light Core, you can still land Shroomboom, it will just be a ways off....

Overall, if you are a Shroomboom fan this is a no brainer.  If you are a fan of LightCore characters this one is nicely done.

    1. Well, personally I would go with the SSBP as you get Hot Dog and Zap. That said, Prism Break is always rock solid, L-Rod is hard to come by, and I have heard Drill Sergeant has a good WowPow.

I would personally go with the BP before the triple...but there is a chance Walmart might get the same battle pack but with Molten Hot Dog...if that is the case it would be wise to hold out for it and get the triple.

If you aren't going to snap it up quick, waiting on the battle pack to hit other retailers might be smart. Can't go wrong either way really (unless they do the Molten Hot Dog trick in some retailers BP etc). If you want to play it safe I would do the Triple Pack...

    1. Nothing wrong with that...Hot Dog is great and Zap is very versatile as well!

  3. Well, I managed to nab my LC Shroom-Boom (The last one to boot!) from Target, which was quite surprising, but then again, I had my "lucky charm" with me as well. :)

    1. I'm also playing with him in the Newlanders, and his eye and mushrooms light up in the game as well! :D Pretty neat! :D

    2. At Target?! Flashwing is LUCKY, lol! You really need to head this way with her to help me land Thumpback and Eye Brawl!

My Target has finally restocked the last two weeks, but the only LC I see there is their Triple Pack. They did have a lot of PB, Eruptor, and Drobot earlier on...Haven't even seen them in awhile.

That is cool they made the mushrooms light up in the game...I wondered if they would do that, or just the eye. I haven't gotten to play him yet, just the unboxing. I'll enjoy shooting glowing mushrooms at everything :)

    3. Like I said, if you have a favorite Skylander, take 'em along with you as a lucky charm. :)
