Frito-Lay Spearheads Halloween with Special Orange and Black Fright Rider
I saw this late Sunday night, but it was too late to blog it...
I have checked for chips (the promo started Sunday, September 22nd, 2013 from what I know), and have not found them just yet. I believe we have until middle November for this one, but will know more once I find the actual chips.
This will once again be a promotion involving their Classic Mix and Flavor Mix Variety Packs. Unlike the Sidekicks setup where you buy the chips, enter the code, and pay freight, this one goes back to Flocked Stump Smash.
Before you ask, "No, I do not have Flocked Stump Smash." Why? I seriously NEVER found the specially marked bags of chips for him. If you know me, you know I'd have gone for him and I literally never once, at any store around me, saw the special bags.
I certainly hope that isn't the case this time around as Orange and Black is one of my personal, favorite color combos...I am a big fan of Halloween, and more importantly I'm a fan of Fright Rider and this figure, based on what we see on the bags, looks AWESOME!
You can find more info, and enter the contest, here:

Skylanders Giants Spooks up Pumpkin Eye Brawl
As much as things like Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon launching in the Spring and not Fall (cough, before Halloween, cough) bothers me a bit more than most, I have to like the fact when something meshes up properly.
You've likely heard rumors of Pumkin Eye Brawl for awhile now...I know a ton of people have asked me if he is legit. My answer was yes...and now we can add him to our collections...at least in Canada. Those of us stateside will just have to wait about a week now.
He was first leaked on cduniverse...then retail "juggernauts" Sears and Kmart added him for pre-order, albeit with no picture or box art etc. This led to a lot more speculation, but helped convince me this was in fact a real deal.
How those two retailers opened up before GameStop, TRU, Walmart, Target, Amazon etc is still beyond me, but oh well...
I have to thank John from the blog and Facebook for letting me know we could actually pre-order PEB from GameStop!
I was running errands last night and put in my pre-order. I think the price was $15.99 (got some other stuff and don't have the receipt on me). Pumpkin Eye Brawl should arrive in stores Wednesday, September 11th, 2013.
Big question past that was the usual:
-What Is His Name in the Game?
-Does he Look Different?
-Level 5 and Cash?
-How does he look on the portal?
Well, since our neighbors to the north have Pumpkin Eye Brawl (as of today) we can answer those questions.
Pumpkin Eye Brawl's name in the game is "Special Eye Brawl" and he does not start at Level 5 with any coins. Also, in game he appears like regular Eye Brawl. I will save the light up info for the actual unboxing video...which should hopefully come next Wednesday!
Nonetheless, this is another special Giant and gives folks like myself a legitimate, non-duplicate 2nd Eye Brawl to explore his other path.
At this time we don't know if he will fly off the shelves or stick around like Gnarly Tree Rex. My thoughts are he should be easy to find initially, but with Halloween coming we could be in for a scare. Parents that are aware of him, or kids that know of him, will likely request Pumpkin Eye Brawl over candy...this will put a dent in the supply. The other, and bigger concern, is of course the scalpers. They know PEB will be big around Halloween and without knowing if he'll be stocked deep, or shipped in limited quantities for a short time they might buy up stock. I've already had a few Canadian readers tell me they have experienced going to their EB Games trying to land him today.
That said, I wanted to get the word out on Pumpkin Eye Brawl and his pre-order status. GameStop is likely a better bet for most. Currently, there is still nothing mentioning him on their website and I've yet to know of another major retailer with a pre-order.
As soon as I land him I will post pics and the unboxing!
Good luck landing your Pumpkin Eye Brawl!

Happy Halloween 2012!
Hey Everyone!
Happy Halloween! Who has big plans for the night?
I've been working hard to get the Skylanders Giants playthrough on the move...
I recorded up to Part 11 last night and I am currently editing that one as we speak. Subsequently, I plan to upload all of the recordings tonight!
I will warn you that the first 5 videos are kind of just rambling around and testing things out...We kind of get back in the swing of things in Part 6 where I introduce characters, take on their heroic challenges etc. I decided that instead of piling characters up into the same video I would take a different approach and keep things singular. This will allow everyone to find what they want to see easier (searching) and more efficiently (you only see that character etc). Granted, if you want to see it all you just have more videos to go through.
I figured that some people would want to just see Shroomboom in action and wouldn't care to see Series 2 Chop Chop introduced since they are likely familiar with him. This new layout will definitely be more efficient.
Anyway, I'm about to go upload that...
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I really enjoy it. The weather here will be perfect (feel for those of you on the eastern seaboard).
I was able to record some Battle Mode in Giants yesterday and will try and edit it as well.
My other plan for a Halloween gift for everyone is to record the unboxing of Fright Rider...I'm about to get on that. The "surprise" was going to be unboxing LightCore Hex. I ordered all the LightCore figures in from Toys'R'Us.com and the "old" characters shipped and arrived today (Drobot, Eruptor, Hex, Prism Break). The only catch is that I did not get Hex...they sent an extra Eruptor. All this despite the packing list clearly listing off Hex and the online receipts showing Hex was ordered and shipped.
This is ridiculous. I really like Toys'R'Us, but their online ordering and shipping is ridiculous. Keep in mind I ordered these BEFORE launch day. I could have picked up the LightCore characters in-store, in-person on release day and at BOGO 40%. I ultimately did that when I saw how SLOW they were in shipping. I actually decided to cancel it, but there was no option to only cancel part of the order..it was all or nothing. As I sorted that out, I got an e-mail 4 had shipped...go figure.
Anyway, my order from GameStop (which was placed Sunday morning) came to me Tuesday of that week. Toys'R'Us.com took a full 10 days since release to get to me...pretty sad.
In store it is great (aside from the times they promote some huge Skylander event only to have 3-6 of the new character). As annoying as that is, I really do like buying from TRU because they have the best sales most of the time, better stock, and the employees will usually work with you. Their online ordering and shipping is just archaic. These LightCore, including my "Eruptor/Hex" will be going back.
So, while it is sad I couldn't bring LightCore Hex into the Halloween mix...I can give you this:
http://www.target.com/p/skylanders-giants-lightcore-triple-pack-target-exclusive/-/A-14307986#prodSlot=dlp_medium_1_5&term=Skylanders Giants
If you held out ordering in LightCores, or were looking for a better deal...this is it! This is a Target Triple Pack and includes LC Prism Break, LC Eruptor, and LC Drobot. It will save you a few bucks and will definitely be unique.
As mentioned, I plan to do some more "blog only" hot links like that one...If you are reading this, you might note that the other recent addition was Granite Crusher who you can snag online from Target too.
That said, I am going to film the unboxing of Fright Rider and the heavily requested....
.....

Swarm!
I will try to get both edited and uploaded tonight.
Stay tuned for updates on the blog post archiving the blind playthrough too!

Happy Halloween!
Hey Everyone!
First off, I am not sure how many "devout" follwers there are of this blog, if any lol, but regardless I feel obligated to provide a few updates.
It has been 25 days since the last blog post (SSE Part 36). I have actually recorded SSE 37-41, which is putting me very close to being ready for Tabbu...The Great Maze is really something you need to do consecutively, or at least just a day or two between sessions. When you wind up going 2-3+ weeks from your last save to just "jumping back in" it is really cumbersome to remember where you had been, and perhaps more importantly where to go.
The irony is how much I stressed that in at least 2 different recording sessions, but alas things have not lined up as one might have hoped for this playthrough. I do enjoy it, but finding the time here lately has been tough. I basically have been forced to pick between x hours of sleep, or y hours for SSE, where x is a number less than 6 and any input on y results in z, a total deficit resulting in complete infeffectiveness for the next day....very rough to say the least. I'm actually strapped with time before factoring in SSE here lately. I will get it done, just not going to rush it. I'm pretty sure if anyone was relying on me to guide them through the Great Maze or SSE they would have commented by now, lol.
On the bright side, I have been trying to get back to playing 30+ mins of Wii Fit Plus every night...I like to workout anyway and with it getting colder it is easy to plug-in...after the wrap-up of the complete playthough I got off on NFL Training Camp, which was great aside from random exercises not registering. I actually quit that a few weeks ago for the simple issue of not having AAA batteries on hand...bummer. I got some, just haven't put them in...I think I'll upload the "cool" parts of that game and then gauge interest in any team workouts. I believe there would be more viewers for other games than a "60 Day Challenge" on NFL Training Camp.
(Side note: Wii Fit Plus just never gets old to me...I've even been breaking some records, setting new personal bests, and playing a few I don't spend much time with!).
So, as things settle down (hopefully, I think...maybe?!) I hope to work back into 30+ mins of WFP and 30-60 mins for SSE. It shouldn't take long to complete, unless Tabbu requires a ton of replays. Then it is just a matter of editing and uploading (which I am behind on anyway).
I have/had my next playthrough lined up...I got it new with Training Camp, but have yet to even play it :( I might try it out and then sort out doing a blind playthrough on it or Spyro's Adventure...
Which brings me to the big news as of late (ie Saturday). I picked up a copy of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure for the Wii! I didn't stop there, I also got a few of the expansion packs...it looks like a great game. I'm actually uploading some gameplay footage from the Battle Arena end of things. Adventure Mode looks great...and is going to be a big reason to wrap up SSE (if I can resist the temptation to put it on the backburner).
I also picked up another "big" item Saturday...it was a good deal (best I've seen on it) and will no doubt come in handy for the future! More to come on that one...
Lastly, I will finally post the poll results for Wii Fit Plus vs Wii Sports Resort and then make a new one...check it out and vote!
If you miss the blogs, I do provide quite a few updates in the sidebar via Twitter. Not as detailed, obviously, but it kind of keeps you up to the minute.
And in closing...Happy Halloween! Halloween has always been one of my favorite "holidays." It is just nice to have something totally different that is so widely known and practiced...I won't bore folks with the history, or debate the intent etc...It is really just a chance for kids to get a costume and some candy...and for some adults a costume and a night out. I hope you all have a great Halloween!
